March Compeitions: Mulwala and Marlin
The Mulwala Comp was well attended, despite the best efforts by many the big fish did not come out to play, all members caught fish mainly in the mid 50’s
Marlin Comp
Only two boats and 4 members nominated to fish the comp unfortunatley the week was cut short due to bad weather however the boy’s saw quite a few marlin both on the surface and marking up, just after to new moon the fish were very doughy, reluctant to switch on, bait was plentyfull on the first day however very small and was difficult to get a bite, the next day the bait thined out and patches of larger bait was caught and the marlin happy to take a bait. Three fish caught serveral lost including a shark.
January 2021
Portland Competition 14th to the 17th of January 2021,
Great start on wednesday afternoon before the comp with most boats catching a few kingfish. Thursday was an absolute ripper with virtually every boat bagging out on King fish. Most fish in the 70cm range and a few in the low 90cm range. Friday was blowen out with a cold front. Saturday and Sunday was a different story with dirty cold water and no fish. Only one fish was captured on Saturday and Sunday by Vince DeBono on live bait. A great time was had by all with lots of laughs and banter.
